ABSTRACTS DE LA SESION

iSeries Access for Web: a new browser-based alternative!
The iSeries Access Family has expanded its family offering with a new
'iSeries Access for Web' solution.  Many of today's iSeries customers are
looking for a fast, zero-admin way to connect to their servers through a
simple Web browser interface.  iSeries Access for Web is that solution!
And  it has been built specifically for the needs of iSeries customers!
Come to this session to learn how this client can simplify your PC network
administration while at the same time offering end user functions customers
help come to expect with Client  Access products.  By the end of this
session, attendees will be able to:
1. See how 5250 emulation, database and IFS access can be used from a
browser, as well as working with printers print jobs, etc on the server.
2. See how an administrator can set up unique 'front pages' for different
groups of users to enter the iSeries.  This enables you to have complete
control over what capabilities are provided to the connecting user, for
example, you provide the ability to click on links and start a specific
5250 application, or print an invoice from the spool file, or run a
predefined database request.

iSeries Access for Web: Control Access to your iSeries Resources
When you connect to your iSeries through iSeries Access for Web you will be
presented with a default home page that enables you to work with your
server resources, such as 5250 applications, printers, database, file
system, and more.  But as an administrator of your iSeries, you may not
want many of your connecting users to have access to all of these
functions, so change it using the customization tools provided by Access
for Web.  Everything is controlled through OS/400 user profiles, so you can
restrict functions based on single users or groups of users.  And you can
create a variety of different-looking front pages for your different types
of users.

RPG IV - V5R1 and Beyond
RPG IV continues to be enhanced.  Since it’s introduction in V3R1, IBM has
continued to add support for features such as procedures. This session will
review the latest and greatest enhancements to the RPG IV  language made in
V5R1 and V5R2.  As well, some of the functions that are being considered or
explored for future releases will be covered. This is your chance to hear
about what’s been happening lately in the world of RPG IV.

Web Services, Web Services Tools and the iSeries
Web Services is the latest trend in the world of eBusiness.  What are web
services? How might they be used effectively in an application?  What tools
are provided to help me move my Java and RPG code into the Web services
realm.  All of these topics will be covered in this presentation.

Use WebSphere Host Publisher and modernize your green screen applications!
Did you know that WebSphere Host Publisher is included in the iSeries
Client Access Family product?  WebSphere Host Publisher is a programming
tool that doesn't require a programmer or even the source code!  Come learn
how Host Publisher can transform those tired-looking green screens into
truly web-looking applications without changing your original applications.
See how Host Publisher compares to Web Facing.  Also find out how Host
Publisher is used in conjunction with iSeries Access for Web.  By the end
of this session, attendees will be able to:
1. Understand the capabilities of Host Publisher.
2. See how it can be used in an iSeries network.
3. Know what steps to take next in order to start using it.
